Job Summary:
The Facilities Engineer III supervises, manages and coordinates integrated project plans, including implementation schedules and resource estimates for maintenance related projects. Directs, coordinates and facilitates multiple engineering activities to enhance the company's maintenance processes. The Facilities Engineer III is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of machinery and equipment by implementing predictive and preventative measures to minimize downtime. The Facilities Engineer III acts as a bridge between technicians and management, utilizing engineering principles to reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages, coordinates and facilitates multiple engineering and process improvement initiatives related to enhancement of the maintenance systems and processes.
- Provides strategic, expert advice and consultation on the design and implementation of effective business processes to include process analysis, design, engineering, and organization efforts including planning and executing facility expansions and upgrades
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to support and enhance company goals and objectives.
- Participates in the establishment, organization, and implementation of short and long range goals, objective, policies, and operation procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement.
- Develops integrated project plans, implementation schedules, and cost estimates for major projects; Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget
- Maintains accurate records and documents all maintenance activities including, repair logs, parts used, time spent and equipment performance metrics
- Communicates regularly with senior management and administration regarding the status of current project initiatives; obtains management guidance and approval as required to advance initiatives.
- Identify, design and execute plans to ensure the efficient and reliable operations of equipment and machinery; this involves developing strategies for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment
- Analyze equipment performance data to improve reliability, increase production output, and enhance safety
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field;
- Experience: minimum 5-7 years' experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and application
- Strong analytical skills to interpret technical documentation or schematics and use analytical tools and techniques to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities, knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools;
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze comprehensive business processes, perform in depth work analyses, and develop computer generated flow charts
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operation needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions
- Ability to develop project budgets and projections, group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills,
- Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Understanding of the Lean Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing concepts
- CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), Modelling (Geomagic Studio), SPC and SPC software such as Synergy, Minitab)
- Familiar with ladder logic and CNC code
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Cost estimating
Other Requirements:
- Travel: Less than 25%
- Work Environment: Manufacturing sites, and office work environment
- Background Investigation / Drug Screen: Required.
