The ITW GSE Division is an industry leading manufacturer of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to the aviation industry.

Core customers are Airports and Airlines in all countries around the World.

Core products are Power Supply Units for aircraft parked on the ground.

Organizationally ITW GSE is part of the Specialty Products Segment of Illinois Tool Works (ITW).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Assembler is responsible for assembling HVAC units within the Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) production line, with a primary focus on copper brazing and mechanical assembly. This role supports production goals by ensuring high-quality output, on-time delivery, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • Assemble PCA HVAC units, including mechanical components and copper brazing, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency
  • Perform copper brazing of refrigeration lines and components in accordance with specifications and safety standards
  • Complete mechanical assembly tasks including sheet metal components, fittings, and structural elements
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions (electrical and mechanical) to ensure accurate assembly
  • Maintain flexibility to support various production areas based on business needs
  • Utilize hand tools, air tools, and torque tools effectively and safely
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in alignment with 5S principles
  • Follow all safety guidelines and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
  • Use the Production Board to track progress and prioritize daily work
  • Foster a safe, collaborative, and productive work environment
  • Demonstrate ITW principles: simplify, focus, trust, and empower
  • Continuously learn and support new processes with minimal supervision

QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS

Professional Experience

  • Hands-on experience in production assembly required
  • HVAC experience (residential or commercial) strongly preferred
  • Experience with copper brazing required
  • Light sheet metal fabrication and assembly experience preferred

Functional Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions (electrical and mechanical)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate hand tools, air tools, and torque wrenches
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Education & Language

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
