Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Hampden, Massachusetts. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable activity, and contributing to timely reporting across the general ledger. The ideal candidate brings strong corporate tax knowledge, sound judgment with journal entries, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable balances to ensure financial records remain accurate and up to date.

• Prepare and post journal entries that support month-end and ongoing accounting activities.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing transactions, investigating discrepancies, and resolving variances.

• Assist with corporate tax reporting processes, including gathering documentation and supporting tax return preparation.

• Manage sales tax records and help ensure filings and related transactions are handled correctly.

• Support periodic closings by organizing financial data and preparing account analysis for review.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to verify accounting information and improve day-to-day accuracy in reporting.
