Medical Billing Specialist

We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to support financial operations for a healthcare organization. This Contract position focuses on accurate patient account management, billing support across multiple programs, and timely follow-up on outstanding balances. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative and billing experience, works efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and communicates effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
• Manage patient account activity by preparing bills, reviewing balances, and following up on payments to help maintain accurate financial records.
• Support billing processes for multiple service lines and departments while ensuring charges and account details are entered correctly.
• Perform clerical and accounting-related tasks such as documentation review, record updates, and routine financial data entry.
• Maintain complete and accessible patient, staff, and cost center information within billing and recordkeeping systems.
• Communicate with patients, coworkers, and visitors in a courteous and attentive manner when addressing account questions or payment concerns.
• Prioritize competing assignments, respond effectively to interruptions, and maintain productivity in a busy office environment.
• Safeguard confidential information and handle records in accordance with privacy standards and established healthcare practices.
• Use office equipment and standard business software to complete daily work accurately and efficiently.
• Follow applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements while carrying out billing and account support activities.

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
