Facilities Assistant

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep, safety, and functionality of our site in Seattle, Washington. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a well-run environment and responding quickly to operational needs. The person in this role will help ensure building systems, shared spaces, and grounds remain in strong working order while partnering with vendors and internal teams to address ongoing facility needs.

Responsibilities:
• Carry out routine facility support activities and contribute to improvements that enhance the overall operation of the office environment.
• Inspect the building and surrounding areas on a regular basis, identify issues, and arrange prompt corrective action to maintain a safe and functional workplace.
• Oversee preventive maintenance timelines for building systems and equipment, keeping accurate service records and follow-up documentation.
• Complete minor repairs and general maintenance work that do not require a licensed specialist.
• Coordinate with external service providers for more complex repairs, monitor progress, and confirm work is completed to expected standards.
• Work closely with internal staff to plan ahead for larger repair projects and minimize disruptions to daily operations and on-site activities.
• Adjust rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces to support meetings, programs, and special events as needed.
• Monitor fire and security alarm activity, respond appropriately to issues, and help resolve system-related concerns.
• Assist with expense tracking, maintenance reporting, and budget-related documentation using facility systems and ticketing tools.
