Job Title: Tax Accountant / Tax Senior

Job Summary:
A well-established CPA firm in Palm Desert is seeking experienced tax professionals to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a strong background in public accounting and tax preparation, preferably those who hold a CPA or EA designation. The firm is open to professionals with a few years of experience as well as more senior-level tax talent. This role is focused on tax, not audit.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns. Based on general knowledge.
Support tax planning, research, and compliance activities for a variety of clients. Based on general knowledge.
Analyze financial records and identify tax issues, opportunities, and filing requirements. Based on general knowledge.
Communicate with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide tax-related support. Based on general knowledge.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax work in compliance with federal and state regulations. Based on general knowledge.
Assist with year-end tax projections and ongoing client advisory needs. Based on general knowledge.
Stay current on tax law updates and changes impacting clients. Based on general knowledge.
Collaborate with firm leadership and team members during busy season and throughout the year. Based on general knowledge.
Qualifications:
2–3+ years of recent tax experience in public accounting required. Based on general knowledge.
CPA strongly preferred; EA credentials also highly desired. Based on general knowledge.
Prior experience in a CPA firm or similar public accounting environment required. Based on general knowledge.
Strong tax preparation and review experience across multiple return types. Based on general knowledge.
Audit-focused backgrounds are not the target for this role; a tax-focused background is required. Based on general knowledge.
Senior-level tax professionals are also encouraged to apply. Based on general knowledge.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage deadlines in a client-service environment. Based on general knowledge.
Preferred Background:
Experience working with a diverse client base in a public accounting setting. Based on general knowledge.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative firm environment. Based on general knowledge.
Longer-term public tax experience is highly valued. Based on general knowledge.
