We seek an innovative teacher-scholar committed to undergraduate teaching and a robust research agenda. Interdisciplinarity and transregional expertise are especially welcomed, as is the ability to teach broadly and across geographic areas. The application deadline is September 1, 2026.

| Duties and Responsibilities: | We seek an innovative teacher-scholar committed to undergraduate teaching and a robust research agenda. Interdisciplinarity and transregional expertise are especially welcomed, as is the ability to teach broadly and across geographic areas. Villanova University’s Art History program is situated within the History Department. We seek a qualified candidate who will build upon and complement our interests in visual culture, material culture, sustainability, and museum studies (taking advantage of the museums of the Philadelphia region and the Villanova University Art Collection and Gallery). They will also contribute to our History MA. The position begins August 2027 with a teaching load of 2-2 for the 2027-28 academic year, then a 3-2 teaching load each year up to and including the year of their tenure review. |
| Minimum Qualifications: | PhD is required at the time the position commences. |
| Preferred Qualifications: | Previous teaching experience preferred. |
