Cumming Group is seeking an HR Operations Specialist to support our HR Service Delivery function. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for team members and managers, providing Tier 1 HR support, processing HR transactions, and ensuring operational excellence across the employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and experienced in HR operations, compliance, and process improvement within a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Execute day-to-day Shared Services and Tier 1 HR support activities, including employee and manager inquiries, HR transactions, case management, request processing, and timely resolution or escalation of issues in accordance with established procedures and service standards.
- Maintain HR records, SOPs, templates, knowledge resources, and process documentation to support consistent and compliant service delivery.
- Support payroll, benefits, leave, and other back-office HR operations by coordinating transactions, tracking requests, and helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and service continuity.
- Track and maintain Tier 1 service delivery metrics, including case volume, response times, transaction status, and service levels, to support operational visibility and accountability.
- Administer onboarding, offboarding, background check, and I-9 verification processes, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations to routine operational scenarios and employee lifecycle activities.
- Coordinate HR compliance activities, including labor law posting requirements, OSHA-related recordkeeping support, and Workers’ Compensation administrative documentation.
- Partner with HRIS, Benefits, Payroll, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to improve process efficiency, maintain data integrity, and ensure alignment across HR programs and services.
- Resolve routine and moderately complex HR operational issues within established guidelines, escalating higher-risk or sensitive matters as appropriate.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to HR operational initiatives, system enhancements, and service delivery improvements.
- A minimum of 4 days per week working onsite at a Cumming Group Office is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of onboarding, offboarding, I-9 compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience working within established HR SOPs, workflows, and service delivery procedures.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance requirements, and multi-state employment practices.
- Ability to interpret HR policies and apply judgment to operational scenarios.
- Experience in HR operations, HR service delivery, shared services, back-office HR operations, or case management environments preferred.
- Strong ability to execute detailed processes accurately and consistently in a high-volume operational environment.
- High attention to detail with commitment to compliance and data integrity.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
- Ability to prepare, maintain, and interpret HR operational reports, service delivery metrics, and audit-related documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across HR functions, including HRIS, Benefits, Payroll, and HR Business Partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems (knowledge of Workday is strongly preferred).
Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field with HR focus from an accredited university.
Experience: 5+ years of HR operations, HR generalist, or people operations experience.
Preferred Certification: Professional HR Certification (HRCI, SHRM) is preferred.

The salary range for this full-time role is $75,000.00-$100,000.01 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
