Communications Strategist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Communications Strategist to join our team in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal. The ideal candidate will have expertise in communications planning and analysis, media and social media analysis, and a strong understanding of military culture. This role requires developing effective communications products and while adhering to Army branding guidelines, AP Stylebook, and Army.mil style guide. The Communications Strategist will play a key role in stakeholder analysis to ensure messaging aligns with organizational goals and audience needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans that support organizational objectives.
- Conduct media and social media analysis and reporting to inform communication strategies and measure effectiveness.
- Create and produce a variety of communications products, including press releases, articles, social media content, and internal communications.
- Ensure all communications adhere to Army branding guidelines, AP Stylebook, and Army.mil style guide standards.
- Perform stakeholder analysis to identify key audiences and tailor messaging accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain consistent and effective communication efforts.
- Stay informed on military culture and current events to ensure relevant and respectful messaging.
- Proven experience in communications planning and analysis.
- Strong skills in media analysis and social media analysis including the use of analytical tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of military culture and protocols.
- Ability to develop clear, concise, and engaging communications products.
- Familiarity with and ability to follow Army branding guidelines, AP Stylebook, and Army.mil style guide.
- Experience conducting stakeholder analysis to inform communication strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience in military or government communications is highly desirable.
