Installation Manager – Americas Region

The Installation Manager leads the activities of the Projects team to execute the vision and direction of the Program Management organization, with a focus on delivering best-in-class installation support. This role is responsible for managing the installation, relocation, decommissioning, upgrade, and deployment of customer-owned Port and Border security equipment throughout the Americas Region.
The Installation Manager will coordinate with internal technical resources, Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, external vendors/contractors, and customer facilities to ensure successful project execution. This position is responsible for leading a team of Installation Team Leads and Installation Technicians while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to customer expectations.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, project management, and operational execution skills with experience managing field installations, construction projects, infrastructure deployments, or complex electromechanical systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Installation Team Leads and Installation Technicians responsible for the installation, relocation, decommissioning, upgrade, and commissioning of all Leidos SES Ports and Borders products.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and installation timelines.
- Create, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for installation performance and operational efficiency.
- Manage project deliverables and ensure all milestones are achieved on schedule.
- Produce project estimates, quotations, and cost projections within the assigned region.
- Provide Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs for bids, proposals, and tenders.
- Develop and maintain installation labor standards and project execution metrics.
- Ensure projects meet expected schedules, quality requirements, and customer commitments.
- Work closely with Project Management to manage workforce planning, overtime, and technician scheduling.
- Drive customer satisfaction through successful project execution and responsive issue resolution.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance installation efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate project activities with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Schedule and allocate project resources to meet installation requirements.
- Ensure project financial objectives and budget expectations are achieved.
- Maintain accurate project, asset, and customer information within CRM and project management systems.
- Drive data governance and reporting discipline across the installation organization.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing and Production teams to align project schedules with equipment build, testing, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor production status and proactively address schedule risks to ensure installation milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT), shipment readiness, site readiness, and field installation activities.
- Facilitate communication between Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, and Field Services teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Drive accountability across cross-functional stakeholders to meet customer delivery commitments and project deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering) or Construction Management.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, including 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, construction management, installation management, field services, or related technical operations environments.
- 8–12 years of experience directly involved in project/program management and installation of advanced electrical, electronic, mechanical, infrastructure, or integrated systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading installation, construction, technical services, or field operations teams.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and execution.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, leadership, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including short-notice travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Advanced Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio experience.
- Experience managing airport security equipment installation projects.
- CBP or TSA project management experience.
- Experience managing construction, infrastructure, transportation, airport, border security, or large-scale equipment deployment projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or equivalent project/construction management certification preferred.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
