Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a non-profit organization in New York, New York. This is a Contract position expected to run for two months and requires on-site availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a total of 15 hours per week. The person in this role will help maintain accurate financial records, manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, and contribute to a timely month-end close using QuickBooks Desktop.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile a large volume of bank accounts and investigate discrepancies to keep financial records accurate and current.
• Handle routine bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial activity and maintaining organized supporting documentation.
• Prepare and issue invoices while monitoring incoming payments and outstanding balances.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure transactions are processed correctly and on schedule.
• Assist with month-end closing activities by reviewing entries, updating records, and helping finalize financial reports.
• Work on-site in New York, New York on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to provide consistent accounting support during the contract period.
