Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist/Payroll Specialist to join an organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This position focuses on high-volume payables work while also contributing to payroll administration for a multi-employee workforce. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across departments, handling large transaction volumes with precision, and providing timely support on payment and payroll-related matters.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end invoice processing in a high-volume environment using Bill.com and NetSuite, ensuring transactions are entered accurately and completed on schedule.

• Review invoices submitted through a centralized accounts payable queue, confirm supporting details, and route questions to the appropriate internal contacts when clarification is needed.

• Partner with internal stakeholders on general ledger coding, payment prioritization, and timing considerations tied to cash management needs.

• Serve as a point of contact for vendors and employees by answering questions related to invoice status, remittance timing, and account discrepancies.

• Investigate payment and billing inconsistencies, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain accurate records of corrective actions.

• Execute a large monthly payment volume, including recurring disbursements, through electronic payments and other standard payment methods.

• Reconcile corporate card activity and process employee expense reimbursements through Concur in accordance with company guidelines.

• Support biweekly payroll for approximately 200 employees by reviewing submitted data, validating pay information, and helping ensure payroll deadlines are met.

• Coordinate commission-related payroll inputs with internal departments and assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and validation tasks, including activities connected to payroll platform changes.

• Respond to payroll questions from managers and supervisors and help maintain accurate payroll records for hourly and salaried employees.
