Qualifications
RS&H is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate to join our Buildings Engineering team in Chicago, IL.

In this role, you will support electrical design efforts for small to moderately complex building projects while continuing to build technical depth, client awareness, and practical design judgment. You will work alongside multidisciplinary architects, engineers, designers, and project managers to develop coordinated design solutions from concept through construction.
What You’ll Do:
- Design electrical systems that bring buildings to life, including power distribution, lighting, low-voltage systems, and other facility infrastructure
- Contribute to coordinated building design solutions by partnering with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and clients from concept through construction
- Prepare drawings, construction documents, technical reports, calculations, visual aids, and design deliverables using current design and production software
- Apply electrical engineering standards, codes, criteria, and regulations while building the judgment to adapt solutions to each project’s needs
- Support design requirements, impact studies, cost analyses, and field reviews for small to moderately complex building projects
- Grow your technical confidence through hands-on project work, construction observations, and collaboration with experienced Buildings professionals

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Experience using production software and preparing construction documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, contractors, team members, and other project stakeholders
- Must be a U.S. Person per client requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer Intern (EI) certification is strongly preferred
- Experience supporting electrical design for building or facility projects
- Interest in growing toward greater technical responsibility, client coordination, and professional licensure

The salary range for this position in Chicago is $75,000–$115,000 per year, representing the employer’s goodfaith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on jobrelated skills, experience, internal equity, and geographic location, where applicable.
This role may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, an employee assistance program, retirement and financial protection programs (401(k), short and longterm disability), paid time off (including holidays and paid parental leave), and HSA funding up to $1,200 annually.
