Position Description
This Position is Open to Current TTUHSC Employees Only.
Employees in this classification provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In the clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In the office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from the department administrator. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions, and may be stressful when working under emergency conditions.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty. Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.

Major/Essential Functions
- Schedules patients for appointments through EHR when needed & enters SCR into EHR. Checks access to care through EHR. Patient Throughput Management. Ensures protected health information (PHI) is scanned into EHR.
- Assist when needed in processing patients through EHR. Schedules and completes paperwork for offender Record reviews. Effectively participates in the overall goals of the Managed Care Team.
- Copies records for patient liaison, attorney general, and others who are authorized to receive and/or review PHI.
- Support the goal of the unit by attending meetings.
- Acts a courier to facilitate the EHR operation. Performs all other health information tasks as necessary.
- Performs phlebotomy as required using aseptic techniques. Reports abnormal findings or processing errors to the charge nurse. Check and insures lab equipment is properly functioning and maintains a temperature log.
- Properly utilizes the collection and preparation of specimens. Properly uses EHR to ensure continuity of care. TeleHealth presenter.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Qualifications

- Previous experience working in a corrections environment.
- Holds current certification in phlebotomy
- Current TTUHSC Managed Care employee
