Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounts payable cycle from invoice intake through final payment, ensuring each transaction is processed accurately and on schedule.
• Examine invoices and supporting documents for completeness, correct coding, and alignment with internal approval requirements.
• Compare vendor statements to internal records, investigate inconsistencies, and resolve outstanding issues promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date supplier documentation, including tax forms, payment terms, and related records needed for compliance.
• Coordinate recurring payment activities such as check runs, electronic payments, and wire transactions while meeting established deadlines.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet items to support accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance, including tracking fixed assets, prepaid items, and other routine accounting entries.
• Work closely with operational and purchasing teams to address invoice discrepancies, purchase order questions, and payment concerns.
• Support audits and management reporting by gathering documentation, preparing analyses, and helping uphold internal control standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.• At least 2 years of accounting experience, including hands-on involvement with accounts payable processes.
• Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and general ledger activity.
• Experience using accounting software or enterprise resource planning systems.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to use lookups, filters, sorting functions, and pivot tables.
• Demonstrated accuracy, sound organization, and careful attention to detail in day-to-day work.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage priorities in a high-volume setting.
Compensation
