Litigation Paralegal
Responsibilities:
• Work in close partnership with an attorney to oversee approximately 40 to 60 active litigation matters and support overall case strategy.
• Guide files through each stage of the legal process, including filing, discovery, mediation, settlement discussions, trial preparation, and follow-up after trial.
• Prepare a wide range of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery materials, and thorough correspondence.
• Manage written discovery by coordinating document gathering, reviewing records, organizing productions, and tracking response deadlines.
• Maintain litigation calendars and monitor court dates, procedural requirements, and scheduling obligations to keep matters on track.
• Arrange key case events such as depositions, hearings, mediations, expert meetings, and trial settings while ensuring all parties are properly coordinated.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, medical providers, and court staff to support case progress and information flow.
• Review and organize medical records, billing documentation, evidentiary materials, and case files to assist with analysis and preparation.
• Develop case summaries, timelines, witness materials, exhibit binders, and trial notebooks to support hearings and trial proceedings.
• Provide courtroom assistance during trial by handling exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and supporting attorneys throughout proceedings.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of paralegal experience, with a strong preference for litigation-focused work.• Background in personal injury or civil litigation, ideally representing plaintiffs in active litigation matters.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases from intake or filing through resolution, including trial preparation responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of Texas state court procedures, filing practices, and litigation deadlines.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, deposition coordination, document review, and case file management.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, along with sound judgment and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management or eDiscovery platforms.
Compensation
