Accountant - Entry Level

We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join a hospitality organization in New York, New York on a Contract to permanent basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed financial work and wants to build experience within a collaborative Accounting & Finance team. The position will support day-to-day accounting activities, respond to billing-related questions, and help maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and issue a high volume of invoices while ensuring billing information is complete and accurate.
• Assist with year-end accounting activities by organizing records and supporting the close process.
• Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable team members to follow up on outstanding balances and collection efforts.
• Address customer questions related to invoices in a timely and thorough manner.
• Enter financial and billing data into internal systems with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.
• Review accounting information for discrepancies and help resolve routine issues affecting invoicing or receivables.
• Maintain organized documentation to support reporting, reconciliations, and audit readiness.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience or academic exposure in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Familiarity with invoicing, collections, data entry, or accounts receivable support.
• Ability to contribute to year-end close activities in an administrative or accounting support capacity.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with spreadsheets efficiently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for responding to customer billing inquiries.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
