Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support accounting operations for a real estate property and facilities management organization in Monmouth County, New Jersey. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, maintain accurate financial records, and keep daily transactions organized and up to date. The person in this role will contribute to core bookkeeping functions while helping ensure timely processing, balanced accounts, and dependable financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate account records.
• Process accounts payable transactions, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure vendors are paid on schedule.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations by comparing statements to internal records and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain organized financial files and supporting documentation for invoices, payments, and account activity.
• Assist with month-end close tasks by reviewing account balances and preparing information needed for reporting.
• Monitor accounting data for accuracy and follow up on missing details or inconsistencies as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address billing, payment, and general bookkeeping questions.
• Support continuity of accounting operations during the contract period and contribute to a smooth transition if the role becomes a permanent position.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or general accounting support.• Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing in a business environment.
• Proven ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain precise financial records.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Clear communication skills and a dependable approach to daily work.
Compensation
