Sr. OT Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Sr. OT Network Engineer to support and strengthen operational technology and enterprise network environments for an organization in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is based in Houston, Texas AND Hawaii (relocation will be required) and is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate who can balance hands-on network engineering work with the unique demands of OT infrastructure across distributed sites. The role requires strong knowledge of industrial network segmentation, secure connectivity, and wireless and firewall technologies, along with the flexibility to work onsite four days each week and travel occasionally as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize OT and IT network infrastructure across multiple operational locations, including retail sites and remote terminal environments.

• Support network architecture aligned to Purdue Model principles to help maintain appropriate segmentation and security across industrial systems.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switching and routing technologies in production environments.

• Administer firewall platforms, including Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA, to protect network traffic and enforce security policies.

• Oversee wireless network performance using Meraki solutions and ensure reliable connectivity for business and operational users.

• Collaborate with network leadership and architecture teams to translate design standards into effective day-to-day implementation and support.

• Monitor network health, investigate outages, and resolve performance issues affecting critical site operations.

• Provide technical support for site connectivity needs, including occasional travel to regional or island-based facilities when required.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in a senior network engineering role supporting OT or industrial network environments.
• Strong understanding of the Purdue Model and its application within secure operational technology networks.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking, including Cisco routers and Cisco Catalyst switches.
• Experience managing firewall technologies such as Fortinet Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewall, and Cisco ASA.
• Working knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and broader enterprise routing concepts.
• Experience with Meraki wireless solutions in multi-site environments.
• Ability to work onsite in Houston, Texas four days per week with flexibility for occasional travel.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Compensation

$66.50-$77.00 Hourly
