Storage Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Storage Engineer to provide immediate support for a short-term Contract assignment based in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for a hands-on specialist who can independently manage enterprise storage operations with minimal onboarding in a remote environment. The position will focus on production support, storage administration, and connectivity management across virtualized infrastructure, with evening and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities:

• Administer enterprise storage arrays in a live production setting, ensuring reliable performance and day-to-day operational stability.

• Configure and onboard new hosts to the storage environment while maintaining proper access and connectivity.

• Provision and allocate storage resources based on infrastructure needs and workload demands.

• Support ongoing maintenance and operational tasks for storage platforms with a high level of independence.

• Manage and troubleshoot iSCSI-based connectivity across the environment to maintain consistent system access.

• Partner with teams supporting VMware and Hyper-V platforms to align storage services with virtualization requirements.

• Contribute to storage improvement or redesign initiatives as additional project work becomes available.

• Provide support during evening and weekend work windows to meet project and operational timelines.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience administering Dell EMC storage environments in production.
• Strong working knowledge of Dell EMC array models including 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070.
• Proven ability to navigate storage management interfaces and carry out administration tasks without significant ramp-up time.
• Experience with host integration, storage provisioning, and ongoing operational support.
• Solid understanding of iSCSI connectivity and related troubleshooting practices.
• Working knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V environments as they relate to storage operations.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote Contract role with evening and weekend availability.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Clariion, CIFS, Brocade, or NetApp storage is beneficial.

Compensation

$51.46-$59.59 Hourly
