HR Specialist
We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist with deep expertise in time studies, job analysis, workforce planning, and process evaluation. This is a contract position based in Nashville, TN. This role will be responsible for analyzing job functions, measuring work performance, conducting time and motion studies, and supporting organizational design and staffing efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, knowledge of HR best practices, and the ability to partner with leadership to improve productivity, workforce utilization, and role alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive time studies and work measurement analyses to assess labor utilization, operational efficiency, and staffing needs.
- Perform detailed job analyses to identify essential duties, task frequency, required skills, physical demands, and performance standards.
- Develop, review, and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business needs.
- Evaluate workflows, processes, and employee responsibilities to recommend improvements in productivity and organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with department leaders to assess staffing models, workload distribution, and labor forecasting.
- Gather and interpret data related to job performance, cycle times, and labor requirements to support workforce planning initiatives.
- Support compensation, classification, and organizational design efforts through detailed job documentation and analysis.
- Ensure job analysis and time study practices comply with applicable employment laws, internal policies, and operational standards.
- Prepare reports, findings, and recommendations for HR leadership and operational management.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience conducting time and motion studies in manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, or other operational environments.
- Familiarity with FLSA classification reviews, job architecture, and compensation analysis.
- Ability to translate complex workforce data into actionable recommendations.
- Project management experience with process improvement or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience, with significant hands-on experience in time studies, job analysis, workforce planning, or labor analysis.
- Strong knowledge of job evaluation methods, work measurement techniques, and organizational design principles.
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed, compliant job descriptions.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with HRIS, workforce management systems, or data analysis tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with leadership and employees at all levels.
- Knowledge of employment regulations related to job classifications and workforce management preferred.
Compensation
