Client Account Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support billing operations for a client-focused services environment in New York City. This role is well suited for an early-career candidate who brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a thoughtful approach to client service. The position offers a hybrid schedule with regular onsite collaboration and the opportunity to build expertise within a structured, client-facing accounting function.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and distribute accurate client invoices in accordance with billing guidelines and internal deadlines.

• Monitor account activity, research discrepancies, and resolve billing issues by coordinating with internal teams and client contacts.

• Maintain organized billing records and ensure data is entered correctly within computerized billing platforms.

• Generate billing statements and supporting documentation to provide clients with clear, timely account information.

• Follow up on outstanding balances and assist with collection efforts in a thorough and service-oriented manner.

• Support routine account analysis by identifying trends, exceptions, and items requiring further review.

• Contribute to process continuity by adapting to billing system updates and related workflow changes as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–2 years of experience in billing, accounting support, or a related function within a law firm or services setting.
• Working knowledge of invoice preparation, billing statements, collections, and computerized billing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear, detail-focused demeanor.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through when managing detailed financial information.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with 2–3 days onsite each week.
• Proficiency with standard office and financial software tools used for billing and account support.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$95,000.00 Yearly
