Senior HR Generalist
Responsibilities:
• Oversee core human resources activities across the employee lifecycle, including policy administration, onboarding, status changes, and separation processes.
• Manage employee benefits operations by resolving coverage issues, coordinating enrollment changes, reviewing invoices, and explaining plan details to staff.
• Evaluate annual benefits offerings and renewal options in partnership with brokers, then help present recommendations and guide employees through open enrollment activities.
• Maintain accurate HR records and produce reports from HRIS and related databases to support compliance, audits, and operational decision-making.
• Monitor completion of required training, certifications, and workplace compliance activities such as safety instruction, harassment prevention, and licensure tracking.
• Respond to routine questions from applicants, employees, and managers, while escalating sensitive or complex employment matters when appropriate.
• Participate in employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary discussions, and separation support as needed.
• Partner closely with payroll to review employee data changes, address pay and deduction concerns, and help ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, including regulatory filings, background screening, recordkeeping, and audit documentation.
• Recommend process improvements, update employee data within HR systems, reconcile benefits monthly, and contribute to ongoing enhancement of HR services.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in human resources administration with strong exposure to employee relations, onboarding, and benefits management.• Working knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance practices, and required documentation standards.
• Experience using HRIS platforms to maintain employee records, generate reports, and manage data accurately.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with payroll teams to support accurate processing and resolve employee pay or deduction issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain policies and support employees and managers professionally.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
• Organizational skills that support managing multiple deadlines, compliance activities, and administrative details in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in higher education or another regulated, service-oriented environment is preferred.
