Operations Supervisor
We are looking for a dependable Operations Supervisor to support prototype operations, testing activities, and refurbishment workflows in San Bruno, California. You will assist with scheduling of contractors, maneuvering through absences and time off requests. This is a Contract position suited for someone who is comfortable working in a hands-on environment that includes equipment monitoring, sample collection, and food-based testing support. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, follows procedures carefully, and can assist with both office-related coordination and physical operational tasks. This opportunity is well suited for someone with at least 1 year of supervisory experience who values organization, safety, and sustainability-focused work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with scheduling of staff as needed. Finding coverage for shifts.
- Oversee prototype devices while they are running, track performance during operation, and respond promptly when irregular conditions appear.
- Place materials into milling equipment and remove them after processing to keep testing activities moving efficiently.
- Observe system displays and alerts, take appropriate action when alarms occur, and stop equipment when operating conditions require intervention.
- Assist with evaluation of component-level test fixtures used to check equipment behavior under specific operating conditions.
- Support the refurbishment area by unpacking returned units, assessing their condition, and sorting them into designated disposition categories.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of Supervisory experience in office support, operations, testing, manufacturing, or a similar hands-on environment.
• Ability to monitor equipment closely, follow detailed instructions, and react appropriately to alarms or changing conditions.
• Comfortable handling sample collection, basic measurement tasks, and routine documentation with accuracy and consistency.
• Willingness to work with food products, including washing, cutting, sorting, and cleaning test areas thoroughly.
• Familiarity with back office support tasks and the ability to stay organized while assisting multiple workflows.
• Interest in sustainability, organic food, or environmentally focused operational practices is preferred.
Compensation
