Logistics/Packing Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics/Packing Clerk to join our team in Houston, Texas on a Contract basis. This position focuses on preparing specialized equipment for shipment, verifying packing quality, and supporting safe material handling throughout the packaging process. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with documentation, following technical instructions, and collaborating with operations and quality teams to ensure shipments are completed accurately and securely.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare specialized systems and components for shipment using custom packaging methods and protective crating designed for sensitive equipment.
• Interpret packing instructions, technical drawings, and documented procedures to ensure each shipment is assembled and secured correctly.
• Operate material-handling equipment and common shop tools to move, position, and package large or heavy items safely.
• Conduct in-process checks to confirm packed materials meet specification, quality, and handling standards before release.
• Complete packing records, verification forms, and shipment labels with accuracy while meeting customer, export, and compliance requirements.
• Examine crates and packaged items for damage, missing parts, or structural concerns, and escalate issues when discrepancies are found.
• Maintain adherence to quality expectations, safety practices, and controlled-environment procedures, including 7S standards.
• Partner with assembly, quality, and logistics personnel to coordinate shipment readiness and assist with truck loading activities.

Qualifications:

• Experience in logistics, packing, shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse or manufacturing support role.
• Ability to follow written work instructions, specifications, diagrams, and labeling requirements with close attention to detail.
• Hands-on familiarity with hand tools and material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists.
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete checklists, packing records, and shipment paperwork accurately.
• Understanding of shipping functions, crate inspection, and safe handling practices for large or delicate equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while supporting quality, compliance, and operational standards.
• Comfortable working in cleanroom or controlled settings and following established housekeeping and security procedures.

Compensation

$20.00-$21.00 Hourly
