Accounts Receivable Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Enter and update receivable information in company records with a high degree of accuracy.
• Process invoicing, apply incoming payments, and help keep account balances up to date.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on open items to support timely collection efforts.
• Assist with commercial collections by contacting customers regarding past-due invoices and payment status.
• Review account details for discrepancies and escalate issues when additional research is needed.
• Use Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, to organize data, track activity, and prepare basic reports.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external contacts to resolve billing and payment questions.
• Support general accounts receivable operations during leave coverage in an on-site Monday through Friday environment.
Qualifications:
• Prior exposure to accounts receivable, billing, cash application, or related accounting support work.• Strong data entry accuracy and close attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to follow up consistently on outstanding items and document account activity clearly.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for customer and internal team interactions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic to intermediate functions such as pivot tables.
• Familiarity with commercial collections and cash collections processes is preferred.
• Ability to work on site in Fairfield, New Jersey, Monday through Friday.
• Entry-level candidates with relevant accounting support skills are encouraged to apply.
Compensation
