Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee fixed asset accounting by maintaining subledger records, recording additions, calculating depreciation, and processing retirements in line with company policy and accounting standards.
• Prepare borrowing base schedules and perform supporting reconciliations to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage prepaid expense activity by recording, tracking, and amortizing balances each month in the appropriate accounting periods.
• Review and monitor accruals and customer-related deductions, analyze variances, and confirm proper financial treatment of promotional and marketing-related activity.
• Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and helping ensure financial results are reported accurately.
• Perform account and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Contribute to manufacturing cost accounting activities by assisting with financial analysis and maintaining accurate cost-related records.
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen accounting processes and operational efficiency.
• Communicate food safety or quality concerns to authorized personnel so corrective action can be taken promptly when needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.• At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger activity, month-end close processes, and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
• Familiarity with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrual accounting, and deduction tracking.
• Experience using ERP systems, with NetSuite preferred, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Compensation
