HP Laptop Technician

We are looking for a Laptop Technician to support a short-term Contract assignment in Houston, Texas. This role will focus on diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing a high-volume inventory of HP laptops with common hardware issues such as damaged screens and missing keyboard components. The position requires hands-on onsite work for most of the week and is ideal for someone who can follow a fixed schedule while delivering quality hardware repair results.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose hardware problems across a set of HP laptops and determine the appropriate repair approach for each device.

• Perform hands-on repairs, including screen replacements, keyboard key repairs, and other component-level fixes needed to restore equipment to working condition.

• Rebuild laptops as needed to ensure systems are fully functional and ready for return to service.

• Manage a repair workload of approximately 100 devices while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and repair quality.

• Work onsite four to five days each week to complete repairs within the expected project timeline.

• Document repair progress, completed work, and any outstanding hardware issues requiring additional attention.

• Coordinate effectively with the internal team to help reduce backlog and keep the repair project on schedule.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in PC or laptop hardware repair.
• Hands-on experience working with computer hardware, including diagnosis and replacement of internal and external components.
• HP certification is required for this position.
• Proven ability to repair HP laptops, including systems with broken screens and damaged keyboard components.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify hardware failures efficiently.
• Availability to work primarily onsite in Houston, Texas on a fixed schedule during the 2-month Contract assignment.
• Ability to manage multiple repairs independently while maintaining attention to detail.

Compensation

$22.16-$25.66 Hourly
