Scottsdale 5+ Year Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney
We are looking for an accomplished 5+ year Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join our law firm client's dynamic legal team in Scottsdale, Arizona. This opportunity is well suited for a lawyer with at least five years of Arizona litigation experience who can independently manage complex disputes from initial case assessment through resolution. The practice offers exposure to a broad range of matters, including business conflicts, contract issues, real estate disputes, and tort-based claims, while maintaining a strong focus on responsive client service and high-quality advocacy.
Responsibilities:
• Handle commercial litigation matters through every stage of the case lifecycle, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Prepare persuasive legal briefs, motions, and other court filings with careful attention to strategy, accuracy, and procedural requirements.
• Direct and execute discovery efforts, including drafting written discovery, reviewing productions, and preparing for depositions.
• Represent clients in disputes involving contracts, business issues, real estate matters, tort claims, and related civil litigation topics.
• Develop case strategies in partnership with clients and internal team members while maintaining consistent communication and practical legal guidance.
• Manage deadlines, coordinate case activity, and keep matters organized to ensure efficient progress across multiple active files.
• Support courtroom and dispute-resolution proceedings by conducting legal research, preparing arguments, and assisting with case presentation.
• Contribute to high standards of client service by responding promptly, anticipating needs, and advancing matters with professionalism and sound judgment.
Qualifications:
• Active license to practice law and good standing with the State Bar of Arizona (or ability to waive in on motion).
• At least 5 years of experience handling commercial litigation matters.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings.
• Hands-on experience managing discovery and navigating all major phases of litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters proactively and independently.
• Background in bankruptcy matters is a plus.
• Prior judicial clerkship experience, especially with a federal court or state appellate court, is preferred.
Compensation
