Senior Staff Accountant

A well-established commercial real estate investment and property management company is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support financial reporting and accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. This position offers exposure to property accounting, lease administration, investor reporting, and asset management while working alongside experienced accounting leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to expand their commercial real estate expertise and contribute to a growing organization with a strong presence throughout Southern California.

Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Maintain general ledger accuracy for multiple entities and properties
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances

Property & Real Estate Accounting

• Reconcile CAM, tenant recoveries, and operating expenses
• Assist with lease accounting and tenant billing activities
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Coordinate with property managers regarding financial reporting
• Prepare schedules for audits and tax filings

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Commercial real estate, property management, or real estate investment experience preferred
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, NetSuite, or similar software preferred
• Advanced Excel skills required
• CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to apply
