Litigation Paralegal
A dynamic San Francisco–based law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to support its busy civil litigation practice. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers hands-on involvement in all phases of litigation and the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on complex matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing case lifecycles from inception through trial in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive litigation support from case intake through trial and resolution
• Draft, review, and cite-check legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
• Manage case calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
• Coordinate and assist with discovery, including document review, production, and organization
• Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and materials for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial
• File documents in state and federal courts (including e-filing)
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and vendors to support case progress
• Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in civil litigation
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
• Experience managing discovery processes and trial preparation
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines effectively
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g., Relativity, iManage, or similar)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco (hybrid flexibility may be available)
