The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $22-$27/hour. 

  • Day shift: work hours are 4/10 hour days, Monday-Thursday.

POSITION SUMMARY


The Deburrer is responsible for deburring parts with mechanical and manual tools in a manner that will consistently meet production standards and quality requirements.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides optimum cooperation and complete information to the supervisor and other personnel, relative to projects within his/her assigned group, to ensure on-time and accurate job completion.
  • Recommends new methods and procedures to improve efficiency as apparent or required.
  • Reviews blueprints/tolerance requirements for parts to determine appropriate deburring operations and procedures.
  • Set up machines and/or obtain proper tools as required.
  • Visually inspects and checks parts against blueprints to ensure they are ready for deburring.
  • Uses a wide variety of mechanical/manual tools and operating procedures to deburr large and small parts.
  • Uses drill presses, knives, and hand tools to break sharp edges and holes; remove burrs, etc.
  • Performs vibratory deburring as requested.
  • Uses measuring instruments to ensure correct tolerances. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent. 
  • At least 1 year of related deburring experience on metal parts.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
  • Good manual dexterity skills, hand-eye coordination, etc.
  • Ability to maintain a high concentration level while doing repetitive work.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and lift varying weights up to 50 lbs. consecutively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
