About the Job:

The Senior Systems Analyst assists with forming and executing the product vision, with a focus on ensuring that FMIs products meet the needs of our business partners and stakeholders. This position serves multiple high velocity project teams and be responsible for understanding both the business needs within a product area, as well as the applications in detail to facilitate building business requirements with business stakeholders and translating them into functional user stories and specifications for software development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document and refine system and functional requirements to meet business needs and corporate initiatives.
  • Develop clear technical user stories aligned with business requirements, feedback, and project goals in an Agile environment.
  • Participate in development activities, ensuring business requirements are implemented correctly.
  • Maintain comprehensive requirements documentation and traceability throughout the software delivery life cycle.
  • Serve as a liaison between the FMI business units, product, and engineering teams for requirements gathering.
  • Facilitate requirement workshops and lead gathering efforts on processes, requirements, legacy systems, and application mapping. Partner with technical leads and developers to design effective and scalable solutions.
  • Address technical queries, break down complex tasks, and collaborate on prioritizing and planning project initiatives.
  • Work closely with technical product managers to track the product vision and strategy.
  • Work cross functionally to create and manage sprint and quarterly plans.
  • Provide guidance to external teams on product capabilities and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders and the Delivery Manager establishing comprehensive User Acceptance Testing.
  • Continuously refine and prioritize the engineering project team backlog based on the Centralized Product Roadmap
  • Transform business requirements into clear functional specifications.
  • Interface with the User Experience Team to translate requirements for UI/UX, template designs, and mocks.
  • Develop and deliver training and education material for internal engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, analyze key performance indicators, and propagating new feature requests to the Central Product Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a life science, business, technology or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or Associate Product Manager in a software, scientific, or technical business environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years working in a life sciences environment and/or with software products developed for Quality or Clinical Laboratory processes
  • Product Owner (CSPO) Certification
  • Experience translating customer needs/feature requests into detailed technical specifications
  • Professional experience in Agile information technology and/or software engineering
  • Experience working in a software development environment that complies with International Electrotechnical Commission specification 62304, Food and Drug Administration Code of Federal Regulations Title 21 Part 11, and General Data Protection Regulation
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Balsamiq, LucidChart, Visio,
  • Proven time management and organization skills. Demonstrated history of successfully meeting deadlines, prioritizing workload, and handling multiple competing complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills in verbal and writing form
  • History of collaborating within cross-functional teams and building strong relationships across functional areas within an organization
  • History of self-organizing, effective operations without significant day-to-day oversight
  • Ability to perform careful, detail-oriented work under deadline pressure
  • Agreement to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company, employee, and proprietary data and information

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $128,250 - $160,300 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicines compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
