Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Covington, Louisiana to support day-to-day financial operations. This contract position focuses on accurate invoice handling, timely payment processing, and strong attention to detail across accounts payable activities. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare items for accurate entry into the payables workflow.

• Assign proper general ledger or account codes to invoices to ensure expenses are recorded correctly.

• Process vendor payments through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs in accordance with established timelines.

• Reconcile payable records, investigate discrepancies, and follow up with internal teams or vendors to resolve issues promptly.

• Maintain organized payment documentation and update financial records to support audit readiness and reporting accuracy.

• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, invoice questions, and account-related matters with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling accounts payable tasks in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of invoice review, account coding, and payment processing procedures.
• Familiarity with ACH payments and check run coordination.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and standard office software.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and work accurately with minimal supervision.

Compensation

$20.00-$22.00 Hourly
