Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Bellevue, Washington. This role is focused on bringing key reconciliation activities up to date, improving accuracy across accounts receivable and cash-related records, and helping maintain reliable financial data. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment while using QuickBooks Online and Excel to manage day-to-day accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:
• Review and complete overdue account reconciliations to ensure financial records are current and accurate.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding accounts receivable items, partnering with internal stakeholders as needed to clear aging balances.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting activity and period-end close processes.
• Maintain the general ledger by verifying transactions and correcting discrepancies identified during reconciliation work.
• Perform bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations, following up on unmatched items and documenting resolutions.
• Use QuickBooks Online to record, track, and organize accounting transactions in alignment with reporting needs.
• Build and analyze Excel reports using tools such as PivotTables and VLOOKUP to identify variances and support account review.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with strong hands-on reconciliation responsibility.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries and work within a general ledger environment.
• Experience handling account, bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable processes, including researching and resolving open balances.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online for day-to-day accounting tasks and transaction review.
• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP for analysis and reporting.
• Ability to adapt quickly, manage shifting priorities, and work effectively in a flexible environment.

Compensation

$30.00-$35.00 Hourly
