Legal Assistant

A defense-oriented law firm handling insurance coverage matters is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join the team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a fully remote position supporting a busy group with increased workflow, offering a strong opportunity for someone who thrives in a motion-heavy environment and can step in to provide immediate support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, format, and finalize motions, including Tables of Contents (TOCs) and Tables of Authorities (TOAs)
• Handle court filings in compliance with applicable rules and deadlines
• Maintain and manage case calendars, including tracking key litigation deadlines
• Provide general litigation support across active matters, assisting with high-volume workflow needs
• Coordinate document preparation, proofreading, and organization of case materials
• Ensure filings and documents meet court-specific formatting and procedural requirements
• Utilize firm systems for document management and billing support (Clio, MS Office)

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience with strong exposure to motion work
• Proficiency preparing TOCs/TOAs and handling complex filings
• Strong understanding of court rules and filing procedures
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience supporting insurance-related matters is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Clio or similar systems is a plus
