| Job Summary |
The Industry Extension Specialist III provides leadership in applied research, industry engagement, and educational innovation to advance manufacturing competitiveness and workforce development. This position develops and manages collaborative research initiatives in areas including advanced manufacturing, coating and painting technologies, Lean systems, sustainability, and digital transformation. The Specialist pursues external funding opportunities, cultivates strategic partnerships with industry and government agencies, and translates research findings into practical solutions that support economic development and organizational performance.
In addition, the position oversees laboratory and classroom operations to ensure high-quality experiential learning environments and leads the design and continuous improvement of instructional materials, simulations, and professional education programs, grounded in best practices in adult learning. Through research, industry collaboration, and educational leadership, the Industry Extension Specialist III contributes to innovation, workforce development, and the advancement of manufacturing and service industries.
