Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer - Requirements & Verification / Integrated Functional Capability to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Essential Functions:
- Familiarity and understanding of system requirements (validation and verification) and interface control documents (ICDs), and statements of work (SOW)
- Support cross-IPT development of system level requirements and use cases
- Support requirements verification methodology and traceability
- Perform requirements verification and selloff
- Work with IPTs to develop and execute program IFC plans and metrics
- Manage project execution rhythm, coordination, and reporting activities
- Familiarity with JIRA software tool (and/or similar) for issue tracking and resolution
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experience
- Must have experience in AT LEAST ONE aspect of aerospace Systems Engineering, including, requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification, integration, and requirements management
- Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) process
- Familiarity with JIRA software tool (and/or similar) for issue tracking and resolution
- Strong leadership, excellent communication, and strong presentation skills
- Experience with Agile Methodology
- Familiarity and understanding of system requirements (validation and verification)
- Experience in integrating hardware and software in a lab environment
- Experience with USAF programs
- Experience with technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline)
