Payroll Administrator

Troy, MI 48085-4970, US Full Time
Compensation: $45 to $70 Yearly

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support payroll operations for a diverse portfolio of clients in Troy, Michigan. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing multiple payroll cycles, maintaining compliance across jurisdictions, and delivering dependable service in a fast-moving environment. The successful candidate will bring strong payroll knowledge, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to work accurately across a range of employee populations and pay schedules.

Responsibilities:
• Administer end-to-end payroll processing for multiple client accounts on weekly, biweekly, and monthly schedules.
• Review earnings, benefit deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll inputs to ensure each payroll is completed accurately.
• Maintain organized payroll records and apply current federal, state, and local payroll regulations across all assigned accounts.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, perform reconciliations, and generate required payroll reports.
• Address client payroll questions promptly and provide thorough support related to pay, deductions, and reporting matters.
• Support year-end payroll activities, including preparation of wage and tax documents such as W-2s and 1099s.
• Partner with accounting and bookkeeping colleagues to resolve discrepancies and keep client financial data aligned.
• Manage payroll processing for workforces ranging from approximately 101 to 500 employees, including multi-state payroll requirements.
• Utilize payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and comparable platforms to process payroll efficiently and accurately.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience handling full-cycle payroll in a multi-client environment.
• Demonstrated experience processing multi-state payroll with a strong understanding of related compliance obligations.
• Hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and familiarity with other payroll platforms such as Paychex or Gusto.
• Solid knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, benefits administration, and payroll reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Clear communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to client service.
• Experience supporting payroll for employee populations between 101 and 500 workers is preferred.
• Prior background in an accounting firm, bookkeeping practice, or similar service-based setting is a plus.

Compensation

$45,000.00-$70,000.00 Yearly
