Billing Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately to support daily and month-end accounting activity.
• Maintain general ledger records and review transactions to help ensure financial data is complete and reliable.
• Create, update, and analyze spreadsheets using advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Assist with billing operations, account reconciliations, and related accounting tasks across the finance function.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify practical solutions, and escalate questions promptly when clarification is needed.
• Manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
• Collaborate with other accounting team members and provide support on special projects and evolving department needs.
• Contribute to finance process changes, including support for potential future accounting software implementation efforts such as Sage evaluation or transition planning.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.• 2–3 years of accounting experience, including staff accounting responsibilities or progression from accounts payable or accounts receivable into a broader accounting role.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries and general ledger accounting is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and spreadsheet creation, is essential.
• Experience with Abila MIP is preferred.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and work through problems independently.
• Proven ability to take initiative, ask timely questions, and perform effectively under deadlines.
