Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting activity by recording general ledger transactions and maintaining complete supporting records.
• Review financial information for accuracy and investigate inconsistencies to ensure reliable reporting.
• Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts, following up on outstanding items as needed.
• Contribute to month-end close activities by preparing journal entries and helping finalize account balances on schedule.
• Support payroll-related accounting and monitor employee expense activity to maintain accurate entries.
• Assist with sales tax reporting and help maintain compliance with applicable filing requirements.
• Organize financial documentation and prepare schedules requested for internal and external audit support.
• Partner with colleagues across departments to resolve accounting issues and strengthen day-to-day processes.
• Help identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and improve operational efficiency while following company policies and internal standards.
Qualifications:
• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role with hands-on responsibility for general ledger activity.• Working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with sales tax compliance and reporting requirements.
• Understanding of corporate tax concepts, including exposure to corporate tax returns.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Proficiency in maintaining organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Compensation
