Staff Accountant

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity with a growing organization in Southwest Utah. This role will support a variety of accounting functions and play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working across multiple accounting disciplines in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

Prepare and post journal entries while supporting month-end close activities. 

Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy. 

Review and validate accounting transactions for proper classification and coding. 

Record payroll and benefits-related accounting entries and assist with related reconciliations. 

Maintain fixed asset records and calculate monthly depreciation. 

Support project-based accounting activities and financial tracking. 

Generate customer invoices and assist with accounts receivable processes. 

Prepare reports and provide financial data to support business decisions and operational needs. 

Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and internal control documentation. 

Bachelor's degree in accounting strongly preferred

2 plus years of hands-on accounting experience

Qualifications:

Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations. 

Knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting support. 

Experience with fixed assets and depreciation accounting. 

Familiarity with invoicing, accounts receivable, and project accounting activities. 

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online. 

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. 

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. 

Bachelor's degree in accounting
