Attorney/Lawyer

Robert Half is seeking a litigation attorney to support a boutique law firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role will focus heavily on legal research, motion practice, and preparation of pleadings and related filings, with an expected schedule of approximately 20 to 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents for contested civil matters involving consumer debt issues.

• Conduct legal research and translate findings into clear, persuasive written advocacy for ongoing cases.

• Support case development by assisting with discovery activities, procedural filings, and matter organization.

• Apply North Carolina civil procedure rules to deadlines, filings, and overall litigation strategy.

• Review case records and underlying documents related to credit card matters, vehicle financing disputes, and personal or business loan claims.

• Collaborate with the supervising attorney and support staff to keep matters moving efficiently through the litigation process.

• Assist with drafting responses, case summaries, and other written materials needed for hearings and active disputes.

• Use legal technology platforms to manage assignments, documents, and workflow in an organized and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

• Active license in North Carolina required.

• Experience with civil litigation, including an understanding of pleadings, motion practice, and court procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to perform legal research and produce well-structured written work.

• Familiarity with drafting briefs, motions, discovery materials, and related litigation documents.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage part-time work priorities independently.

• Comfort working with case management and legal technology tools in a paper-light environment.

• Willingness to learn consumer debt defense and adapt to a practice that handles contested matters.

• Experience from areas such as personal injury, legal aid, court operations, document review, business litigation, or similar settings is welcomed.
