Payroll Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing for a large employee population across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Prepare and review payroll reports, audit payroll data, and investigate discrepancies to support accurate employee payments and recordkeeping.
• Reconcile payroll results against source data and general ledger activity, resolving variances and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Create and post payroll-related journal entries in coordination with accounting teams to support accurate period-end close activities.
• Maintain employee payroll records within HRIS and payroll platforms, including updates related to earnings, deductions, taxes, and other pay components.
• Partner with internal teams to address payroll questions, support issue resolution, and help sustain efficient payroll operations during periods of increased workload.
• Use advanced Excel functions to analyze payroll data, track trends, and produce clear reporting for operational and financial review.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of payroll experience, including full-cycle payroll administration in high-volume environments.• Demonstrated ability to process payroll for workforces exceeding 500 employees across multiple states.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and other ADP payroll tools.
• Working knowledge of Workday HRIS and its use in payroll-related processes.
• Experience preparing payroll reports, performing reconciliations, and supporting payroll journal entries.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets and perform detailed analysis.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements, deadlines, and accuracy standards.
