Assistant Accounting Manager
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to join a growing manufacturing organization in Greenwood, Indiana. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely close activities, and delivering reporting that helps guide business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across core finance processes including budgeting, reconciliations, and audit support.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly closing activities to ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules for the general ledger.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies through thorough investigation.
• Produce financial reports that provide clear insight into business performance and key trends.
• Assist with budgeting activities by compiling financial data, analyzing variances, and supporting planning efforts.
• Coordinate documentation and schedules needed for financial statement audits and respond to auditor requests.
• Strengthen accounting processes and internal controls to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
• Use Microsoft Excel to organize data, perform analysis, and develop reporting tools for the finance team.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.• Strong background in month-end close procedures, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing related documentation.
• Proven ability to create financial reports and interpret accounting data accurately.
• Hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
• Solid understanding of budgeting processes and variance analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Compensation
