Cloud Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to design and support resilient cloud environments that help the business operate securely and efficiently. This role focuses on building scalable infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and improving platform reliability across modern cloud services. Based in Lansing, Michigan, the position plays a key part in strengthening performance, governance, and cost control within cloud operations.

Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports high availability, scalability, and strong operational performance.
• Build automated provisioning and configuration workflows using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
• Lead cloud adoption efforts by planning and executing the movement of applications, data, and services from on-premises environments.
• Implement security controls such as identity access management, network protections, and encryption to safeguard systems and information.
• Monitor cloud resources, troubleshoot platform issues, and refine usage to improve efficiency, uptime, and cost management.
• Manage and optimize services across platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure to meet technical and business needs.
• Support containerized and orchestration-based environments, including Kubernetes, to improve deployment consistency and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to strengthen CI/CD processes using tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, and pipeline technologies.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience designing and administering cloud solutions in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of core cloud services, including compute, scaling, storage, and networking components.
• Experience supporting CI/CD workflows with tools such as Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, or GitHub.
• Familiarity with container orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cloud security practices, access controls, and data protection methods.
• Ability to evaluate system performance, resolve infrastructure issues, and optimize cloud spend.
• Experience working with data-focused cloud services such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, or AWS Data Pipeline is valued.

Compensation

$175,000.00-$225,000.00 Yearly
