Cost Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and maintain product cost data to ensure accurate financial reporting within a manufacturing setting.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead expenses to identify cost trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Support the standard cost process, including updates, validations, and ongoing monitoring of costing assumptions.
• Reconcile inventory and production-related financial data to help maintain reliable month-end and periodic close results.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, and finance stakeholders to explain cost performance and provide actionable financial insight.
• Develop regular cost analysis reports that highlight key drivers affecting margins, production efficiency, and spending levels.
• Assist with variance investigations by comparing actual results against standards, budgets, and forecasts.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to cost controls, reporting processes, and manufacturing financial analysis.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles and standard costing methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed cost analysis and interpret financial results accurately.
• Experience working with inventory, production costs, and variance reporting in a plant or manufacturing setting.
• Solid understanding of cost structures including material, labor, and overhead components.
• Proficiency in preparing financial reports and supporting month-end close activities related to costing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
