Senior LIMS Business Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Partner with laboratory and business stakeholders to uncover operational needs, facilitate discussions, and convert findings into clearly documented business and functional requirements.
• Evaluate current lab-related workflows and identify opportunities to streamline activities, improve accuracy, and introduce effective automation where appropriate.
• Contribute to application discovery, user training support, and requirements analysis for laboratory system initiatives, including Starlims-related work when needed.
• Create and maintain project artifacts such as business requirement documents, functional specifications, process flows, solution outlines, and related support materials.
• Support quality assurance efforts by preparing test strategies, writing test cases and user stories, coordinating validation activities, and documenting results.
• Work across Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks to help keep initiatives organized, aligned with scope, and responsive to changing business priorities.
• Analyze operational and project data to surface insights, support decision-making, and help stakeholders understand trends, risks, and next steps.
• Provide regular communication to stakeholders on progress, issues, and dependencies while helping manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
• Experience working in a laboratory setting or supporting laboratory information systems and related business processes.• Strong understanding of software delivery practices, including both Agile and Waterfall methodologies within the System Development Life Cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements through interviews, workshops, and other discovery techniques, then convert them into structured documentation.
• Hands-on experience supporting testing activities, including test planning, test case creation, validation support, and quality assurance coordination.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess processes, interpret data, and recommend practical solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and DevOps or similar tools used for documentation, tracking, and collaboration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and produce clear business, functional, and solution-focused documentation.
• Experience with Starlims is preferred.
Compensation
