File Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Organize and sort a high-volume file room containing active, inactive, and archived records to improve accessibility and control.
• Review existing document storage methods, identify gaps, and establish a clearer filing structure for long-term record maintenance.
• Manage paper files, file boxes, and related record materials with accuracy and consistency across categories.
• Perform data entry to update record details and support accurate tracking of physical and electronic documents.
• Scan and prepare documents for digital recordkeeping as part of a broader effort to move files into an electronic format.
• Collaborate with team members in adjacent departments to understand record usage and maintain smooth information flow.
• Recommend practical tools, workflows, or software options that could support a more effective filing and digitization process.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive records with care while ensuring information is properly organized and retrievable.
Qualifications:
• Experience with paper filing and managing large volumes of physical records.• Proficiency in scanning documents, e-filing, and supporting document digitization efforts.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create order in a complex filing environment.
• Ability to assess existing processes and suggest improvements for file management workflows.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal staff.
• Comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities in a records-focused role.
Compensation
