HR Generalist
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full leave of absence process from initial employee inquiry through return-to-work coordination, ensuring updates, communication, and documentation are handled accurately.
• Partner with payroll to help ensure employees on leave or in active status receive timely and correct pay.
• Administer employee benefits activities by responding to benefit-related questions, coordinating with brokers, supporting open enrollment, and processing qualifying life event changes.
• Communicate regularly with employees about available wellness and flexible spending programs, including important usage details and deadlines.
• Provide guidance on workplace health and safety matters, maintain related programs and documentation, and serve as a point of contact for workers’ compensation cases.
• Support recruiting efforts by preparing onboarding materials, reviewing applications, sourcing candidates, coordinating pre-employment checks, and assisting with offer documentation.
• Facilitate onboarding and offboarding activities, including orientation, required paperwork completion, training coordination, separation communication, and equipment return follow-up.
• Oversee contract staffing and internship administration from request intake through posting, coordination, and onboarding support.
• Maintain employee data and records in HR, payroll, and benefits platforms, while processing employment changes and separations with accuracy.
• Act as an HR contact for employees, assist with routine questions, coordinate HR projects or meetings, and maintain organized personnel documentation and records.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a broad HR Generalist role with exposure to leave administration, benefits, recruiting, and employee support.• Working knowledge of FMLA and other leave-related practices, with the ability to manage sensitive situations carefully and accurately.
• Experience using HRIS, payroll, or benefits systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with benefits administration processes, including open enrollment, employee questions, and qualifying life event updates.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain HR processes clearly and respond to employees in a timely, detail-focused manner.
• Understanding of compliance, employee relations, and HR recordkeeping best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and keep confidential information secure.
